Polonius is coitus Ophelia that small t give birth is no proper and bidwise presentment Ophelia that she shouldnt depict in to hamlet so advantageously. Polonius in this obstetrical deli rattling as well reveals to the lector what his straightforward feelings of small town atomic number 18.From this destination we set up inculpate that Polonius is very pertain nigh Ophelias consanguinity with hamlet. Shakespeare uses Metaphors, Similes, Alteration, and personifications in Polonius vernacular s to puree crossroadss faults and Ophelias re targetation as well. Act1, Sc3, Lines143 Ophelia doesnt speak up to her founding father this shows a veritable heart of frailness on Ophelias side. The reader mess only come in that Ophelia is a vulnerable, creaky and a nai ve girl in here nature. The boilersuit make of Poloniuss dustup communication is precaution for his daughter and reprehension towards crossroads. Polonius is essay to defend Ophelia from get stomach by settlement, which whom he doesnt oddly like. This makes Polonius depend like an protective father. The shopping mall of Poloniuss address is the headache commingle with native disfavour toward juncture. He uses Metaphors, Similes, initial rhyme and Personification this makes Poloniuss idiom become more appealing. Polonius compares critical point to some things and says a dower nearly what settlement is and is not. Polonius does it so much that the auditory modality is feels that the Polonius could carry is own orphic issues with Hamlet. The interview is perceive a litter of review order at Hamlet and the earshot readiness start to call up that Poloniuss has other reasons for pass judgment of Hamlet. This could mean that all the things said almost Hamlet may not be true. How does the speech affect the stand-in of the run away? This speech affects the reside of the revivify in the understanding that Poloniuss reproval of Hamlet causes for Ophelia to tell Hamlet that their relationship is over and Hamlet is not very proud of(p) by this. afterward this chronological sequence when Hamlet starts playacting weird, nevertheless a little mad.Polonius mechanically suggests it is because Ophelia has dumped Hamlet, and in that locationfore convinces Claudius and Gertrude that is what is create Hamlets alienation. in time though ther e is not direct examine that implies Ophelia is the cause of Hamlets madness, in position the reader enjoy this is not yet the reason for Hamlets madness advance more Hamlet is not even mad. Polonius is simply vie inconveniences advocate. I deem Poloniuss thorough abhor of Hamlet that is revealed throughout the speech has unnatural the play in a number of ways.

During this paper we will learn about the history and the Pros and Cons of the Death Penalty. We will also see why it industrial plant or doesnt work and why battalion are for and against it. It is my belief that the Death Penalty should be for people who commit harsh crimes and kill other people. History The death penalty is a form of punishment that has been there even before Christ and has been administered by many civilized societies on prostitute doers for various offences however the first ever documented capital punishment case was that of George Kendall, in Virginia. He was a Spanish spy who was convicted in 1608. From then till present, around 20,000 people (documented figure only) have been given death penalties by various courts of integritys. (Acker, 2003). When the concept of state prisons was absent, fines and capital punishment were used as a means to discourage crimes and offences. The punishment was normally meted out in public so as to make an example out of it. The European legality was stricter and had some 200 offences punishable by death penalty as compared to the American law in the early periods of colonization. The American law had major crimes such(prenominal) as murder, rape, adultery, sodomy, etc. that could result in capital punishment. Another reason for the public show of the punishment in the early years was the simple order of hanging used for the punishment which in later years was replaced by more sophisticated techniques like electric chairs and gas chambers so as to reduce the suffering of the offender. Thus with new techniques and increasing public sensitivities towards such punishments the public display was halted in the mid-19th century. (Acker, 2003) The 18th century also saw some changes in peoples opinion regarding the punishment and they began opposing it. Thus with time the crimes for which death penalty could be ordered were reduced and included yet serious offences. The European Enlightenment era saw further criticism and the western nations started abandoning the practice with United States as the only exception. Even US law had the punishment abolished for certain period (1973-1977) but it was again legalized for certain crimes and situations (Acker, 2003). Why such serious crimes are committed? There are various reasons for which people commit crimes which are punishable with death. Offenders usually choose to commit such a big crime mainly due to revenge, grudge and greed of property. investigate also reveals that murders are usually done by family members, copulations, fr iends, or by some known person. This may be because that person wants to take revenge from his relative/friend or is interested in his wealth etc. Moreover, as friends and relatives are mostly aware of the schedule of the person so it is easy for them to position the person (Ehrlich, 1975). Other than revenge, unemployment and poverty also result in serious crimes such as murder. The murder rate is directly proportional to the rate of unemployment and mutually proportional to the labor force participation rate (Ehrlich, 1975). Moreover,

Quantitative Research Theory Essay Example for Free

Quantitative Research Theory EssayThe purpose of the vicenary method is used when measuring the incidence of multiple views and opinions in a singular chosen sample and how it may be used in nursing practice. The quantitative method is often followed by the qualitative method, used to observe further findings. Its objective is to appraise data and conclude results from sample populations of interest. Quantitative methods highlight the magnificence on objective measures and numerical analysis of data gathered through questionnaires, surveys, and/or surveys. This method of inquirying focuses on collecting numerical in ricochetation and generalizing the data across groups of individuals. Quantitative research is an objective, formal, rigorous, systematic process for creating numerical data in regards to the world. The quantitative method of conducting research is often used to describe new situations, events, or concepts and determine the effectiveness of treatments in the wo rld. at that place are four types of quantitative research methods such as descriptive research, correlation research, quasi-experimental research, and experimental research.Quantitative research is necessary in developing knowledge vital for evidence-based nursing practices. Conducting quantitative research requires rigor and control. Rigorous research extends credibility and worth. When collecting data discipline techniques much like on-street interviews, online questionnaires, or telephone interviews should be used. Sampling sizes typically occur when using larger numbers of cases representing populations of interest, randomly selected respondents. Findings of statistical data are conclusive and definitive typically descriptive in its nature. Things to keep in mind when utilizing the quantitative method and reporting the results of a study. An explanation of the statistical treatment and data collected as relevant results are produced coinciding to the research issue under inve stigation. Chronologically log all unanticipated events that imply place during the data collecting stage. Provide an explanation of the techniques used to gather and present valid and credible data information. Select a sufficientstatistical procedure provide an account for the selected use and references for such.Describe assumptions for all research procedures and the efforts taken to ensure that they havent been violated. If using presumed statistics, descriptive statistics should be provided, confidence intervals, and sample sizes for each variable to include the value of test statistics, the direction, the significance level, and the degrees of freedom. When avoiding the use of inferring causality in particular non-randomized designs or without additional experimentation. The use of tables to provide exact value uses figures conveying global effects. In quantitative research, the objective is to determine the connection between two things, the independent and dependent varia ble in populations. Its designs are either descriptive or experimental. The descriptive design subjects are typically measured once, whereas experimental subjects are measured before and after treatment. The descriptive study creates associations only between variables. The experimental design, however, establishes causality. The main characteristics are to classify features, construct statistical models, and count them in an attempt to detail what has occurred and what is observed. The research deals in logic and the objective, numbers, focusing on logic, unchanging static data and detailed, convergent reasoning as oppose to divergent reasoning. Once data has been collected in the quantitative research method, decisions must be made on how the use of information gathered can be altered to offer recommendations. Individuals compare prime focuses on basic quantitative and qualitative methodologies qualitative methodologies investigate categories and themes of collected input, while q uantitative methodologies confirm validity and reliability of the gathered statistics. The objective of this form of research is to populate gaps with knowledge. This nature of knowing is referenced often as ontology versus epistemology. Ontology is in regards to the worlds existence and in what form. Epistemology is simply described as how you know what you know. In ontological quantitative methods, an altered reality occurs in which it can be measured and appreciated to a certain degree of efficiency. In epistemology quantitative research, the process is done through objective observations and measurements. Methodology research is subjective to various ethical implications. Aside from the element of deception that is included, individuals involved in a controlled group mayhave a disadvantage when the outcome of treatment or interventions is unclear or believed to be underlying to existing regimens. There are ethical considerations dependent on the form of study. In example, if a st udy is done on evaluating the effectiveness of an epinephrine auto-injector. It would be unethical to guard or deny interventions for individuals within the controlled group. The ethics of methodology research demands careful assessments of the benefits and risks that may occur and that information is gathered and delivered to participants during the process of gathering informed consent.A generalized guideline is viewed as the degree of risk to be taken by those participating in the research should never exceed the potential addition benefits of the knowledge to be gained. In conclusion, the quantitative method measures the incidence of multiple views and opinions in a singular chosen sample. The quantitative method is sometimes followed by the qualitative research, which is used to observe further findings. The method of researching focuses on collecting numerical information and generalizing the data across groups of individuals.ReferenceBabbie, Earl R (2010). The Practice of c omplaisant Research. Philip Pirrip Essay Example for Free

Philip Pirrip EssayThe initial information that we derive from the opening diss perpetually is that, Philip Pirrip is kn birth as Pip. Both of Pips p bents have died, his tombstone, which informs us that his father has died and the inscription on this Also Georgina Wife of the Above. We immediately feel sympathy for Pip as he says I never saw my father or my mother, not even in a photograph. He does have a real acute fancy however and from the tombstone the shape of the letters on my fathers gave me an odd imagination that he was a square, st come to the fore, dark man, with curly black hair. This shows, from the slightest thing Pips imagination runs riot. Our hearts extend even more to the grief stricken Pip when we discover his five brothers are also dead, Sacred to the memory of five wee brothers of mine, we perceive him to be a helpless young male child. We soon discover that he lives with his infant, and her husband, who is a blacksmith, as he replies when asked Who dye live with, My sister, sir Mrs Joe Gargery wife of Joe Gargery, the blacksmith, sir. The forefront is asked by a fearful man Pip encounters in the graveyard whilst ensureing the graves of his deceased family. Dickens presents this man in a very explicit manner, this is to contrast the two characters. A fearful man, all in coarse grey, with a great iron on his leg. A man with no hat, and with broken shoes, and with an old rag tied round his head. A man who had been soaked in water, and smothered in mud, and lamed by stones, and cut by flints, and steamed by nettles, and torn by briars who limped, and shivered, and glared and growled and whose teeth chattered in his head as he seized me by the chin. Pip pleads in terror pray, he is scared for his own safety, willingly he replies to any questions the man, a convict, poses to him. Dickens explicitly expresses Pips worry I was frightened again. We realise Pips sister is twenty years older and once more we feel for Pip, she had bo ught me up by hand. Pip finds homage from his terrible start in life and his clash with the convict in Joe Gargery, his sisters husband, who Pip says was a fair man, he was a mild, good natured, sweet tempered, easy overtaking dear fellow. In look this he indicates to us his fondness of him. Dickens conveys the idea of his rough mistreatment by his sister, he reiterates the harshness of her care for Pip, by throwing me, and shes been on the rampage.Although Pip is young, he still has underminding values and estimations, the guilty knowledge that I was going to rob Mrs Joe. He is always asking questions showing he is inquisitive. We also find out he is to be apprenticed to Joe showing his future appears mapped out and following a set route. The character of Pip before his visit to deteriorate Havisham is one of admiration and security. When I m pren gtd 2 u Jo wot larx. Showing hes smell forward to working with Joe.Joe and Pip are friends, Pip realises the goodness of Joe, Young as I was, I believe that I dated a newfangled admiration of Joe from that night. We were equals, as we had been before I had a new sensation of feeling conscious that I was looking up to Joe in my heart, this shows Pips growing maturity, he sees and appreciates his relationship with Joe. Dickens portrays Joe as a loving, caring minder for Pip, and bring the poor little child. God bless the poor little child, and by saying that theres room for him at the forge Joe shows he has Pips best interests at heart. The crucial tour point and change in Pips character occurs during chapter 8 when Pip visits Miss Havishams. His initial reaction to Satis House, Miss Havishams residence, is one of apprehension, he doesnt think it looks friendly, old brick, and dismal, and had a great many iron bars to it. After his view of the sign aling his outlook of the forthcoming acquaintance with Miss Havisham looks bleak. Pip is very shy when he meets Estella, he sees her as above him as his use of the term conductress shows. The meeting with Miss Havisham devastates the young happy Pip.Pip is told what to do by Miss Havisham let me see you play cards, to which Estella replies why, he is a common labouring boy which hurts Pip, he feels upset at the scornful remark. Miss Havisham herself is cruel, she appears to enjoy making fun of Pip, she asks him what he thinks of Estella which causes Pip great discomfort, I dont like to say.Estella is constantly tormenting Pip, the turning point is when she exclaims he calls the knaves, Jacks, this boy Adding and what coarse hands he has And what thick boots Pip feels ashamed, he reflects immediately on Estellas hurtful remarks I had never thought of being ashamed of my hands before but I began to consider them a very indifferent pair. He relays his true emotions I was so humiliated, hurt, spurned, offended, angry, sorry, tears started to my eyes which shows he has clearly been affected by these remarks. Pips immediate angry reaction is to blame Joe for his upbringing, he determined to ask Joe why he had ever taught me to call those picture cards, Jacks. He wishes Joe had been rather more genteelly brought up, and then I should have been so too. This shows he wishes he could have an education.Pip sums up his meeting with Miss Havesham, I had seen, and deeply revolving that I was a common labouring boy that my hands were coarse that my boots were thick that I had fallen into a despicable habit of calling Knaves, Jacks that I was much more ignorant than I had considered myself last night, and generally that I was in a low-lived knotty way. The quote shows Pips new outlook towards himself, and his new considered view of his image. Dickens uses the word despicable, this represents how Pip feels about himself at the present moment in time. After the visit to Miss H aveshams, Pip returns back home, the visit has greatly affected his self-esteem, bringing the character of Pip forward in a new light. Pip lies to his sister and Mr Pumblechook, about the dealings of his visit, I felt convinced that if I describes Miss Havesham as my eyes had seen it, I should not be understood. Showing Pip finds it easier to lie, than to strikingness the truth about Estella and Miss Havesham. He doesnt want his sister not Mr Pumblechook, to find out the truth, I said as little as I could. Showing he has no intention of revealing anything about his encounter.
